Matara is a town in Matara District, Southern Province of Sri Lanka,The Matara pradeshiya sabha consists of the Matara divisional secretariat division and Devinuwara DS division. The total Land area is about is 41.1 km. of 29 GN division. The Pradeshiya sabha was established under act No 15 of 1987.
